How exciting

Two good things have happened to me already today and it is not even 10 o'oclock!  The first is that I am definitely feeling a lot better and the second is that I won the Simply Fresh Kit from Simply Fresh Kits.  It looks like a fantastic kit and I cannot wait to play with it.

I also dropped by to check out the Scrapware blog and Lisa Warren has posted the most AMAZING project.  Absolutely gorgeous and I am so stealing the idea to make my own.  So drop on by and check it out.

My Awards for Excellence entry

I will filing layouts away last night and I realised that I had not put on my blog my entries from Awards for Excellence.  I made the decision last year not to enter Elite Team, and I was lucky enough to win an award for photography for waiting for a train together.

What's happening at Embellished?

Ali, the owner at Embellished,  set the DT a challenge to scrap their resolution(s) for 2009 and this was my effort ...









I have to say that the girls at Embellished at just sooooo talented, so you should drop by and have a lookie.

Embellished have also started a new blog at Be Inspired and it is a great place to add to your bloglines for a regular dose of inspiration.

On the sickness front, went downhill again yesterday afternoon, but hoping that was just a temporary blip on the radar as feeling ok so far today.

WOO HOO

I woke up this morning without a sinus headache!!!  So excited just had to share that I am feeling the best I have in ages this morning.  All I can say is thank goodness for antibiotics.

I am still sick

Can't believe it but I am still sick.  The horrible virus part seems to have gone but my sinuses are giving me curry of the worst type at the moment, even with antibiotics and sinus medication.  Anyone who gets sinus infections will be able to relate   :o(  

We spent the weekend in Sydney - socialising, swiming, scrapping, having a few drinks, shopping and generally having a good time.  I got 25 layouts done!!  Though 12 of them were following a formula to scrap the collage photos that I showed here from our camping trip.  I will photograph everything over the next few days and share.

My friends house is perfect for combining scrapping and general living and socialising.  We set the scraptables up at the end of the living area off the kitchen and we can scrap and chat with the family while the boys play near us.  It is great for everyone!  Dany and I were in charge of giving the littlies a good time on Saturday so we headed to the pool, which was great.  Steve and Gary were in charge on Sunday and it was park time both in the morning and afternoon. 

Today Gary and Steve headed to Parramatta Park to see the balloons take off at dawn and then we all headed to breakfast before going back to the park for some fun on the rides.  Man it was hot and humid though.  Some last minute scrapping while the boys had a nap, and then back home for us.

What a weekend!

An update

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes.  As suspected, the doctor confirmed a sinus infection and a virus.  She prescribed anitbiotics for the sinus infection whilst warning me that the virus may linger for another few weeks.  Such lovely timing with Wollongong experiencing a hot hot summer, us living at the beach, and me being sick for 1/2 the summer - lol!

Anyway, I am confident that a couple of more days of antibiotics will at least resolve the sinus issue and hopefully the virus will move along (but not to anyone I know!).

Not sure what happened...

but I had over 250 hits onto my blog yesterday, and I have to say that I don't usually get that many!  LOL!  Maybe my increased posting is actually interesting people to come and have a look.  If you do drop by, please leave a comment, I love to know who is dropping in.

I have finally given in and made a doctors appointment for today.  2.5 weeks and I am still sick.  In fact, I think I feel worse today than ever.  This is not good, as I have a busy weekend of socialising ahead of me and I am just not feeling up to it at the moment  :o(

Anyway, something more interesting for the majority of my readers, a layout ...

Another photo from the lovely Ali Russell of my little brother and my sister-in-law.  It was so good spending time with them at Christmas - they are a great couple.

And that's all I feel up to posting at the moment.  I think I have a sinus infection now, so hopefully a dose of antibiotics will fix that and I will be right for the weekend (some sleep would probably help too!).

I'm excited to announce...

that I have started with the very talented team at Embellished!  I am excited to take this next step in my scrapbooking journey.

Although I did not annouce it on my blog, after over a year with KSK I made the decision that it was time to move on a couple of weeks ago.  I loved my time with KSK and will always treasure the friendships that I made there.

There is lots of exciting stuff going to be happening at Embellished, so drop on by and check out this great and funky shop!

Scrapware goodness

I finished this layout on the weekend and just had to share it!

I used these Scrapware products:

and

to make this ...

I painted the spider and then finished the body with Stickles.  The eyes are painted with a silver foil pen and then popped up on foam tape.

The web was painted dark grey and then sprayed with silver glimer mist.  I cut it to fit across the double spread and then mounted it with foam tape (lots of foam tape - lol!)

Love this layout and love these great products that just finished it perfectly!
