I am feeling a bit ordinary today - I can feel a cold getting it's hold on my throat and joints  :o(  Hoping I feel a lot better by Monday ready for a couple of big days at SIA.

Nothing exciting happening here

Nothing exciting to report.  I am doing a photography course with Janine Kaye at the moment and last night I had an "aha" moment about manual photography.  I am hoping this now converts into me being able to take my photos manually (and have them turn out!!)

This afternoon I am off to Melbourne.  I am a bit sad about this.  I don't really want to be away for the two nights (feels like two nights since I won't be home till 9ish on Thursday night).  I have promised Benson a gift if he is a good boy for Daddy and he has put in a request for Ben10.  What is it with that???  He has never seen Ben10 on tv but he is an expert in all things Ben10 it seems.  I am not sure how I am going to be able to access a Ben10 product when I will be spending all my time in airports and the hotel.

Between now and 1.30 when I need to leave, I need to hang out 3 loads of washing, pack, wash and blow dry my hair and get some work done.  In fact there is something with work that I HAVE to get done before I go.  :o(   This is why i dislike trips interstate planned at short notice

SIA is next week and there will be lots of new layouts showing off new product after that - so watch this space!

SIA

SIA is next week, so I am busy preparing some samples for the Scrapware stand - waiting for things to dry at the moment.  I will be there working for the two days of the show, so if you are there, drop by and say hi.  Lisa and I are working on some great make and takes.

Some layouts!  I have a few to share ...

This is the one that gave me grief and caused the loss of mojo at the Scraploot crop the other weekend.

This is one using principally the products that I won from Nic - thanks Nic I have used so much of what you gave me  :o)  Photo was one taken by Ali Russell during our family photo shoot in December.

This one was to play with my new Sassafras Lass Bungle Jungle - love it!

This was just playing around - some new product, some old - and a fabbo new Thickers script.  These photos had a 70's action from Pioneer Woman run over them - I love the effect.

 

So that was a pretty long post - whew!

Today I found out that I need to go to Melbourne on Wednesday night to hold a training course on the Thursday - defintitely cramping my preparation leading up to SIA!  I wonder if I could pack something to take with me????

so what's happening?

Well - Benson and I are both all better  :o)  Last night I went cropping with the girls at Scrapbooking Delights and got four layouts done and today Benson and I went and hung out at the beach and had a great time playing in the sand and paddling in the water - nice.  Benson came home and after lunch had a super long sleep (I think sleep is the best remedy for getting back to 100%) and I got some more scrapping done and edited some photos from this morning - NICE!

Wow what a great Saturday.

Morris the wombat from daycare has come to stay for the weekend, so we took Morris to the beach this morning too...

Last night I also picked up some old layouts from Scrapbook HQ.  I couldn't believe how much my style has changed in the last 6 months!  A couple of these layouts were using pretty challenging kits ...

Love these random memories.

 Heavily influence by Jennifer McGuire - I love her work.  And a good workout on my cuttlebug to do the embossing on this one.

This was a challenging kit - but pretty happy with the end result and the memory is great!

That's it for me - Gary and I are having takeaway tonight (healthy thai salad for me I think) and we are going to watch Quantum of Solace (new James Bond movie) together.  I picked it up on Thursday and have already seen it 4 times - oops!  he he he - I love having a movie playing while I scrap, so I have just had it running over and over.  I don't even watch it that closely so I am looking forward to seeing it properly again tonight.

Oh my jolly sinuses!

Put your hand up if you suffer from sinus problems - my is up super high.  What a terrible day.  I have had a headache for 3 days now and last night I just knew that it was sinuses (I had been hoping it wasn't).  Woke up this morning - headache pounding as soon as I opened my eyes.  Crap.

Come downstairs, Benson says his tummy doesn't feel good and on my way to get him a bucket, he deposits breakfast everywhere.  That means no school for Benson.  I search for my sinus tablets - out.  Hump!, and with the headache I had there is no way I was going out to get headache tablets with a sick little monster in tow.  So i take the ones that aren't as effective and persevere until Gary gets home with some good stuff for me.  I probably spent about two hours on the guest bed today in the room next to Benson while he chilled out and watched tv.  The rest of the time I actually managed to get quiet a lot achieved work wise today - amazing.

My sinus panadol have kicked in and I actually feel well enough now to tackle cleaning up my scrap room - wonders will never cease.

I am in a quandry

My scrap space (and general office) is a pigsty at the moment - but I don't feel like cleaning, I feel like scrapping.  However, this is pretty much impossible considering the state of my room  :o(

So I shall procrastinate a little longer here and post a layout ....

Benson has not been particularly well (fever last night) so it has been a quiet day today, but lots of chores have been dealt with.

Off to make meatballs for dinner now!

Great news!

I was so excited to see this morning that I have been selected to be a guest designer at Jillibean Soup!  See the announcement here.

I love Jillibean products and I can't wait to have my chance to play.

We returned from an extra long weekend in Canberra yesterday afternoon.  I know that there was a heap of people that we probably should have caught up with - but we really just needed some time to chill and do our own thing.  It was great - but tiring.  LOL need a holiday to get over my holiday now!  Next weekend we have nothing on and I am looking forward to it.  I will post some photos soon - have to do a bit of editing first.

Another layout

A great day today - Benson had swimming lessons, I got lots of washing done (and dry!), we did some shopping (got some great bargains for Benson for next season) and generally chilled out.

One downer today, I agreed to compromise my debt with Creating Keepsakes  :o(   They are offering 40 cents in the dollar on their outstanding debt - I figured better some money than none - but a bit of a downer considering that I ordered a whole heap of albums expecting that money and now not so much is coming - oops!

Anyway, a layout ...

Off to Sydney for work tomorrow which will be super busy.

A busy weekend

I had a great weekend - Friday night was date night with our best friends while the boys stayed at home with Uncy Trevor.  We went to a great place in Castle Hill called Eurolounge.  The food was fantastic and the company was scintillating!

Saturday swa us head to Bare Island - Dany, Steve and Gary went diving while the boys and I built sandcastles and splashed water everywhere.  Great fun and so relaxing.  Saturday afternoon Dany and I headed off to a crop at Scraploot.  I started off the evening well, but I really struggled on what ended up being my final layout.  It just seemed to go on and on without really getting anywhere!  I ended up bringing it home unfinished, I have some ideas now to finalise it.

Sunday was super lazy, but we did get motivated and bake cookies, which both Benson and Christian have taken as treats to daycare today (so I don't eat them!!!).

ok i did it

Today has been very productive (and it has been beautiful weather) - with me getting to the gym this morning, work went well and I got layouts photographed.

So here is the first of many layouts from the weekend away ....

The photos are by Ali Russell and the feathers are a digital scrapbooking product i bought from 2 peas and printed onto transparency.

I have realised that many of the layouts use products that are yet to be released by Scrapware, so might have to hold of on those for now.

We are off to celebrate Lisa's birthday tonight at the pub - very child friendly set up so it will be great!
