Sneaky peaks ...

Naomi told me that I could post a couple of sneaky peaks of the Scraptapestry kit for September.  This is an AWESOME kit - I know that you will love it!

Such beautiful colours and so many perfect embellishments!

I am suppose ...

to be working, but it is hard going and I am procrastinating instead, so I decided to share some more layouts from the retreat ...

I developed a love of ribbon, glitter and prima flowers over the weekend - or maybe in respect of the prima flowers and ribbon, I just deepened an already existing affection.  The flourish in this layout is one of mine from Scrapware.

And my love affair with string continued unabated - and I see no foreseeable end to it!  It is just the most perfect finishing touch for boy layouts and a button or pins just finishes it off ...

Lisa sat and die cut and embossed a huge pile of butterflies while at the retreat - so I "borrowed" one for this layout.  By the way Lisa, no you can't have it back.

I have also discovered the perfection of pearls and you will notice them sprinkled across most of the layouts that I did on the weekend.  Notwithstanding that they are pearls, they too also seem to be a perfect embellishment for boy pages.  I think I used about 3 - 4 packets of them on the weekend  :o)

Retreat layouts

Before I share any more Scraptapestry layouts, I will share a couple of the layouts from the retreat ...

For this one, the title was inspired by the Lemmony Snicket's series of unfortunate events - love that title!

A bit of a blast from the past today - Benson and I went to the library and he has borrowed a copy of "Kimba the white lion" - I use to watch this when I was a kid!  Haven't seen it around for years.

Today ...

started off amazing - so hot that I put Benson in shorts and a long sleeve shirt to go to daycare instead of the standard "soft pants" as Benson calls trackies.  All I can say is what happened?????  It is currently overcast, cool, windy and starting to rain?

I knew that I should have photographed the layouts from the retreat earlier today - now the light is just too blue for a good photo.  I will endeavour to tackle it tomorrow if the weather improves.  I got 16.5 layouts done at the retreat.  Even though I stayed up later than normal both nights I had no great productivity that what I normally do.  I know though that a lot of talking went on!

I will share some of the new stuff soon, but for now I will show some of the layouts that I did using the limited edition kit from Scraptapestry.  I loved the colours in this one - red, black, cream with touches of brown and green - yum!

More still to come!  Naomi's kits are just the most amazing value - I always seem to get 7 layouts with lots of leftovers.  Go and check them out.

Going retreating (again!)

I am off to the Scrapbooking Delights retreat this weekend - so looking forward to it too!  And yesterday I went to a craft show and got lots of goodies to inspire me while I am away.

Since I am going to be offline for a few days, I thought I would share the last of the layouts that I made from the Songbird kit at Scraptapestry...

Another glorious day!

And although I am working, I did have a chance to go for a nice walk this morning.  I was also thrilled to see that I was able to go a little further this morning than my last walk in the same time - YEY!

I am never afraid to use flowers on a "boy" layout  ;o)   And yes - the sky was that blue that day and that is why I LOVE living at the beach!

I got happy mail

When I got home from Sydney for work tonight there was a box of happy mail for me!  The next kit for Scraptapestry - and it is AMAZING!  I can't wait to start work on it this weekend at the Scrapbooking Delights retreat.

Today also saw the launch of Sketch #28 at Inspired Blueprints ...

I did this layout after a bit of a break - and I was obviously into some full on colour combos - LOL!

Hope you all had a great day - I am super tired but today was very productive, which is just great.  I love it when my work week starts on a great note.

Scraptapestry is live!

Scraptapestry is up and running!  Naomi advises that there are a couple of little gliches with the gallery that she is trying to iron out, but the site is up and running for the purchase of kits.

I thought I would share some of the layouts that I created from the Songbird kit, which is the kit for August.  I have done 7 layouts from this kit - and still have heaps of stuff left over.  There are so many bits and bobs in these kits - perfect for playing and creating different looking layouts.

I will share some more soon - and some layouts from the limited edition Headlines kit too!

Happy Birthday Gary

Happy birthday to my sweet man!  It was a bit slack of me to not post this earlier, but we spent the morning chilling out together as a family, having breaky, playing at the beach and park and taking lots of photos - then when we got home, I forgot  :o(

So here is a photo from earlier today of the birthday boy  ...

My life would just not be as good without him by my side - love you Gary.
