I NEED chocolate!

Seriously, I do NEED chocolate.  It has been simply ages, and I have a craving that nothing else will fulfill   :o(

So instead, I think I will edit some photos.  Not quiet the same, but it will keep me busy and hopefully distract me sufficiently that I will forget about said chocolate... well at least until I make a mocha to chill in front of the TV with.

I am in need of a photo editing session.  Why is it that as a scrapbooker, I love the taking and the scrapbooking of said photos - but I hate editing.  I think I say this each time I sit down to a photo editing session - and each time I think I won't leave it so long next time.  Ummmm ....

So the other layout that I did on the weekend ...

Some shares

Things have been pretty quiet around the blog lately - sorry about that!  I have however, been busy with other stuff - including having FINISHED my christmas shopping - WOO HOO!!  I also had laser treatment on my face on friday so have spent the weekend rather puffed up - this is my second time and this time I even was brave enough to take some photos of me in my puffy glory.  Last time I went into hiding big time!  I even braved the shopping centre today to take Benson to the pictures - I wore sunnies and figured no one would know me anyway!  The sunnies are required because around my eyes are super puffy and I look slightly freaky - LOL!  The treatment is for my roseacea.  My dermatogolist is apparently cutting edge in this field and he has worked marvels with my skin.  I had such a vast improvement with the first round that I gathered my courage to do it again (it took me 18 months - but man it hurts!!).  I am hoping that this will finish it off and I won't have to return for another round.  The big benefit is a permanent improvement in my skin - the secondary benefit is that it also works like a mini facelift.  So I might have grey hair but man my skin looks good - lol!

So I also completed the monthly sketch at Savvy over the weekend ....

That's it for me.  I have a mountain of ironing to do tonight but hoping to have some scrappy time.  Also hoping that once the light softens to get Benson Christmas card photo for this year.

I was also pretty impressed that yesterday, since I couldn't go out, Benson and I cleaned up the family room.  I even dusted blinds and swept behind and under couches.  We had a bit of a toy cull too.  I have also squeezed in two nanna naps on Fri and Sat.  What the!  now it sounds like a had a really productive weekend!!.

Struggling

I am struggling to focus on work and procrastinating BIG time - lol!  I had been in a bit of a slump with scrapping - finding it really hard to just do something for myself - relying on challenges and DT obligations to spark the inspiration.  So last night I just started pushing some papers and photos around and the spark relit!  Now I want to scrap (and finish the last of my Christmas shopping!!)

But, I NEED to get this stuff done for work today.  A quandrum!

So this is the layout that I did for the Blind Scrap at Savvy ...

 

No detailed shots as I have had to do a little blurring of the journaling.

Was really happy with how it worked out.  I have been wanting to try that doodled frame for ages and I love how it worked.  I will definitely be trying that again.

Well I can procrastinate no longer - to work (and focus) I go!

Been playing at Savvy

I have been having a play with the challenges at Scrapbook Savvy this weekend - fun!

Here are a couple that I have got done ...

Use song lyrics

Use remember, at least three colours and at least 4 lines of journaling.  Also pulled out my new goodies from American Crafts for this one - Letterbox - LOVE it!

Also did the Blind crop - my first one!  Can't share the layout yet though.

We did go to the pool this morning - it is our local beach pool.  It looks like a standard olympic pool, but is filled with sea water directly from the ocean.  It was brisk!

Some christmas shopping and now chilling at home in the air conditioning - bliss!

today

so today was a busy day.  This morning Benson and I visited his pediatric gastroenterologist (try saying that fast three times!) for the follow up on his biopsy of his gut that was done just before we went on hols.  It is confirmed that Benson is definitely a coeliac.  Benson loves this doctor and has named him Dr Make-me-well, which let me assure you tickled the doctor's fancy today!  So Dr Make-me-well had told us after the biopsy to go away on our holidays and enjoy ourselves without stressing about trying to start Benson on his new diet.  That took a whole lot of stress out of the situation and gave me a chance to do reading, see a dietician and get my head around this whole thing.  So tomorrow is the start of Benson's new diet for life.

He is such a trooper.  He is a HUGE fan of McDonalds (though we don't let him have it very often) and was a serious discussion when I told him that he couldn't have it anymore.  There were some tears yesterday let me tell you.  But today, when I let him have it for the very last time he recognised that this was it and that "McDonald's has gluten, so I can't have it anymore".  It is funny seeing how quickly he seems to have got grasp of the concepts of gluten and coeliacs.

Dr Make-me-well was very upbeat - and tells me that now and when he is an adult, he will be fine.  The time to look forward to are the teenage years when they believe they are invincible!  Oh dear!!

I also went and saw New Moon this afternoon and enjoyed it.  I wish the cinema hadn't been quiet so cold though!  I think they were trying to compensate for the boiling hot outside.

I have also got a bit of creating in this evening.  YEY!

Now a layout (not one from tonight) ...

The projects for this weekend are to do a gluten free shop and to put together our new bbq - I think the second will be harder - wish us luck!

he reads!

I am so excited - I picked up a first reader for Benson at his kindergarten orientation day today - and tonight he read it.  With a little guidance from Gary he read it - what the!

Gary and I both thought he was close, but I didn't realise how close.  It bought a tear to my eye when he read it to me.

I LOVE to read and it is so exciting that the wonderful world of reading is going to open up to him now.

It is funny becuase I was just about the type up a post about my super messy office/scraproom and how unmotivated I am to scrap at the moment as a result.  And now I am feeling very keen to get it cleaned up so I can scrap this wonderful story.  So I am off to clean up now.

I also got a wonderful box of goodies from American Crafts today - their new Letterbox range.  I love it!  Beautiful colours and patterns to play with and the new thickers are to die for!  More fabric covered chipboard and a new range of printed chipboard.  YUM!

PS - I have to say too that Britney was awesome and the critics are just to hard on that poor girl.  She put on a great show and it was very entertaining.  So if you are off to see her perform - enjoy!

Back but struggling with being with it!

My cold/flu seems to have evolved into some sinus issues which is affecting my ability to be 100% at the moment.  I did get out to a crop last night - which might have contributed to my overall feeling of crappiness today (1am to bed can do that!!!).  Had a nana nap today and I am hoping that will do the trick.

I'm back!

Hi everyone - thanks for your patience, I am now back.  Nothing terrible or anything to explain the absence - just been away for a couple of weeks on family holiday.  I had all the best intentions of scheduling posts to come up while I was away, but with work and everyhting else, this just didn't happen.

The holiday was GREAT, just what I needed.  We were in Coffs Harbour and had great weather for most of the time we were there.  Only 4 days of rain, but in those 4 days we did get 500ml of rain!!!  That is a LOT of rain - but it did not stop us having a good time (nor did the shocking cold/flu that I came down with on like day 3!).  I even got some scrapping in at the local store, having a few hours to myself one day at a crop they were having.  Quite convenient that I stuck a bag of goodies into the car!  I got a mini album of our trip to Lord Howe from about 7 or 8 years ago done.  SOmething that I had put aside for ages, and now it is done - very satisfying.

Now I have a couple of days to recharge before heading back to work on Monday.

There is a new sketch up at Inspired Blueprints that was released while I was away ...
