Lots of wonderful photos

Not the weekend just past but the weekend before that we had some photos taken by the beach by Joanne Hockey.  I had my doubts as to how they would work out due to the fact that there were around a million flies, Benson had a dripulator for a nose and he proceeded to rub sand all over his face.  But the photos are fantastic (as you can see).  I have posted couple here in this post but the rest are in the album Professional Photos - October 2006 on the right hand side.  All credit to Joanne for her photography skill and I think her skill with photoshop!

 

How beautiful is the spot where the photos were taken - Sandon Point beach.  A little piece of paradise and we are lucky enough to live near here!

I have also been busy making scrapbooking layouts.  A couple during the week, then Cass came over for a crop night on Friday night and I got a couple more done and then over the weekend another one.  Wow!  A couple of them are at Addicted 2 Scrappin' - so if you are in the Wollongong area pop in and have a look.  I have also posted a couple here and there will be some coming up next month in the Scrap-Pile Design Team gallery.

The cold that Benson had the weekend of the photo shoot continued to get worse, but Benson likes to share so he managed to give it to both Gary and I.  Benson is still suffering the effects and so are we.  Nothing like a family suffering together.  As a result we had a very quiet weekend hanging mainly around home.

Benson's first professional haircut

Although Benson has had trims at home (2), he had never been to the hairdressers - until Sunday.  I had been putting it off as I didn't want to cut off his little baby curls.  It ended up that it wasn't an issue - the cut has made his curls spring up even more at the back.  The only issue is that he now looks like such a little boy - no longer my baby!

So here are some pics of my gorgeous boy having his golden locks trimmed.

The weekend so far ...

We have been to dinner at the Kaye's tonight and I had a very late coffee thinking that it would not affect me - well obviously I was wrong as I am presently feeling the most awake I have all day!  As such, thought it was a good time to make a post.

Friday, Benson had his Chickenpox vaccination - was sooo unbelievably good - only freaked out for a few minutes and then was more interested in having a look at the needle and other parifinalia that the doctor used and working out how it all works.  And no ... I didn't get any photos for scrapbooking!  I also got some good news on the scrapbooking front - I had a layout accepted by Scrapbook Creations, which is just fantastic.

This morning Gary went for a dive, Benson and I ran some chores and then went and caught up with Cass and Callum at Small Frys.  Benson and Callum had a wonderful time playing together and the Mummy's had a wonderful time catching up.

After Benson's sleep, we went to the Kaye's for a play and dinner.  The kids had an absolutely fantastic time playing in the wading pool and Benson showed his exceptional table manners over dinner!  It was lovely to sit down to an adult dinner once the kids had gone to bed, but unfortunately Brad wasn't feeling too great so he retired early.  Janine is interested in buying a digital SLR so we took over the Nikon and we all took some photos which are the ones in this post.  I think she will be very happy with the results and all that more keen to get one (sorry Brad!)

Tomorrow I am contemplating taking Benson for a haircut so watch this space for some before and after photos.  Tomorrow afternoon we are having some family photos taken by a local photographer.  Will post some of them once we get them back.

Play Date

Is this amazing - I am back again - so quickly.  Amazing considering how long it is usually between posts!

I just downloaded some pics from Benson's playdate with Chelsea today so I thought I would post a couple.

The last photo cracks me up becuase Benson is trying to give Chelsea a cuddle and she doesn't want anything to do with it (as you can tell by the expression on her face!).

Off to have a playdate of my own with some patterned paper now!

Bubble hair?

I was telling you all about Benson's fascination with bubbles, well I just had to record this conversation between Gary and Benson during Benson's bath last night.  It went something like:

Gary: "Are you giving Daddy bubbles where his hair was?"
Benson:  Nods yes (with a very serious expression on his face)

Cracked me up completely!  Lucky I was there snapping some pics and got some good shots.

An update on life with the Arnold's ...

Since my last post life has tracked on.  Gary went away for the weekend looking at the stars and Linda came to visit on the Saturday night.  Then last weekend I went away on a scrapbooking retreat.  Fantastic Weekend organised by Scrapbook HQ.  Had a fantastic time hanging out with Cass and got to met lots of great ladies (Hi to Mel and Trish if you happen to look at this *wave*).

Very creatively inspiring weekend - I got 10 layouts done and made 2 mini albums - though only compelted one of them.  Unfortunately most of the stuff was for Everyday Moments or for design team work so I won't be posting them here at the moment.  I have a couple of layouts that I can post - the layout titled "Feed the DUCKS" won the sketch competition at the retreat which was very exciting.   The Best Friends layout is a "scrap-lift" of Ruey's layout for a challenge that I am running on Scrap-Pile.

It was great becuase the long weekend meant that we could hand out together as a family on the Monday.  So we went for a walk along the Sea-Cliff bridge - it was just a beautiful day for it.  We then had an early lunch before bringing Benson home for his sleep and then we gardened in the afternoon.  Lucky for me Benson seems to love gardening and tried to help Mummy to pull out the weeds!

Benson has been really well.  He is repeating so many words now and seems to understand nearly everything that we say to him.  He certainly has the concepts of yes, no and more sorted out.  At dinner it is "more, more, more!" until we keep feeding him.  He can put away an amazing amount of food!

He is also preoccupied with bubbles, hats, cars and trucks at the moment.  He spends ages just pushing his cars, trucks and buses around the house.
