I have decided to start doing layouts about some of the wonderful friends that I am fortunate enough to have ... since moving to Wollongong, I have met most of my new friends through scrapbooking. Scrapbooking is such a wonderful hobby and as a result of meeting so many amazing women, I feel like Wollongong is really my home.

Notwithstanding that I had a few hours to myself on Sunday, I really achieved very little - LOL! Maybe I am better off with Benson and Gary at home ...

I ran the Friday night crop last night at my LSS - a great bunch of girls, we had a ball (well I did anyway). And what was even better was that I got three layouts done using my May Poppy Ink kit. Very happy about getting use out of it. So here they are:
Today, Benson and I went to Seth's 4th brithday party. Benson ate way to much party food ... wait, or was that Kim ate too much party food (LOL!). I am now hoping that he is going to give in and have an afternoon sleep after sleeping 20mins in the car on the way home. Gary is off having some "Gary time". Good on him - he deserves it. Tomorrow Benson and Gary are off to the steam museam in Cambelltown to see a real "Thomas" - well that is what Gary has been telling Benson anyway. Hopefully there will be some good photos to scrap.
I am having the day to myself and I am going to get some kits together to take to a retreat that I am off to in 2 weeks. I now officially own so much crap that I can't take it all with me and I have to have kits and stuff organised. If I do get organised (with sketches and journalling if I can) I power through the layouts - ask Michelle - I think she was gob smacked by how much I got done at the get together in Melbourne!
Anyway I am off to try and do some stuff before I give in and get Benson out of bed.

I have just finished a page for Scrapware using some of their cool flowers. I love their product cause you can wack as much paint, glitter, dimensional magic on it as you want and it doesn't warp or bow - fantastic.
I painted the flowers, then used Mod-Podge to cover them with glitter. Some of them have dimensional magic on them and some are just sealed with another coat of Mod-Podge. The cardstock is a Bazzill Bling with a piece of Michael Miller sheer paper fabric over it (the dotty stuff). The title has been put on a piece of vellum so that it stands out from the background but is still soft and subtle. Sorry about the crappy scan - but the layout is quite dimensional which never scans well.
I am trying to do something with my 17,500 photos which were taking up 40G of my hard drive. My computer was starting to feel very unwell as a result. So today I went and bought an external hard drive and now I am just trying to move them all - big job!
Anyway, I am off to bed soon ...

I thought that I would do the scrapjack for this month - right into the challenges at the moment (if you can't tell!). You can see the original layout here and my lift is below.

I came across this cool web site today - Sketches Oz. Basically they have set a sketch and you have to do a LO of your interpretation of the sketch. The current sketch is by Kim Archer.

This was a great sketch for using up a heap of small size older cute photos that I had of Benson. A lot of them were left over from other projects. Love it - thanks Kim for the sketch and thanks to Sketches Oz for making it happen.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there!
We had a great day. Benson gave me some beautiful handmade gifts and then we spent the morning with Chelsea (Benson's little girlfriend) and her family. Brunch, playground, beach and rockpools - what better way could there be to spend Mother's Day?
