Sneak Peak of the December kit!

I have had a play with the Storyboard Kits December kit - Fisher.  It is a great kit and I know that you will love it.  I got 4 layouts done and have heaps of stuff still left.  Here is a sneak peak of what I made ...

I love having kits to play with - they are just the perfect thing to take to a crop night.  Just pick it up and start creating!

Creating your own embellishments

This month I am showing you a technique for creating your own embellishments perfect for a Christmas layout using GCD Studios products.

I made this Christmas layout using the Christmas Sleigh collection.

 

I needed the perfect embellishment to fit below the bow on the tag.  My idea was to make my own embellishments using the Christmas baubles on one of the papers in the range.

Fussy cut the baubles out of the paper - for some of the baubles you will need two of the same design so that you can layer them.

 

Arrange the baubles on your layout - overlapping some of them.  Attach them down.

 

For the baubles on the top of the design, layer a second copy of the same design over them using foam tape.

 

Add glitter glue to those baubles that don't have glitter and add pearls to the hangers.

 

It is so easy to create the perfect embellishments to finish off your Christmas pages!

 

 

I hope you try this technique out on one of your Christmas layouts.

Inspired Blueprints

I have been a bit slack posting my recent IB layouts.  Here is my one for the current sketch (just released this week) - Sketch #60 ...

This layout is made using the new Sassafras Lass range.  The background is one sheet of paper - but looks layers and textured - nice!  I am pretty sure that most of what is in this layout came from a recent studio calico kit.

I will share sketch #59 soon.

November Savvy sketch

I had a play with the November sketch over at Scrapbook Savvy and this is what I came up with ...

Benson had a terrible fall today at school and has badly bruised his left cheekbone.  It was terrible as both Gary and I were up in Sydney working when it happened.  Luckily Gary was able to rush away from work and I got home as soon as I could.  We were worried that it might have been broken, but he has been his happy normal self this evening and scoffed down an enormous dinner so it looks like everything is ok.

So after an emotionally tiring day, I am off to vege on the couch and read my Scrapbooking Memories Mag that arrived today.  Can you believe that this is my last issue as a Master????  Where has the time gone?

Christmas gift for GCD

This month we were asked by GCD Studios to create a gift that we would give at Christmas and I decide to cover this box to hold a CD.  I regularly give our parents CDs of photos as part of their present and I thought that would just be perfect to send one in this Christmas ...

 

 

I have used the Christmas Sleigh collection to decorate this CD case.

Last of my Evanthe layouts

So here are the last two layouts that I did using the Evanthe kit from Storyboard Kits.  Even after five layouts I still had so much left over - great kit this month Lisa!

I have been meaning to do a layout about my list making habit for a while now.  Now it is done ...

Love those letters from Scrapware - they come in white and they take mists so well!

That's the last of my layouts from this month's kit - but don't worry next month's is not far away and there will be sneaks up soon.

I am off to the Penrith Paper Crafts show tomorrow - looking forward to catching up with people and doing a spot of shopping!

December daily

Have you ever thought about making a December daily album?  I have been thinking about it for years - but this year I finally did it and there is a tutorial on the Jillibean Soup blog today if you are interested in seeing how I did it.
